While opening my mother’s pool in the spring of 2002,
I found myself once again siphoning as much water off the cover
as I could. In frustration, I decided I would simply
pull the cover over the side and be finished. Boy, was I wrong.
All the water and muck that had accumulated on it over the
winter ended up, of course, in the pool.
Seeking an answer to this yearly problem, I consulted my dad
who had worked around the pool industry for the past 20 years,
and after hours of contemplating and numerous attempts through
trial and error, we developed our own solution- a prototype.
Hoping for the best, we installed it on my mother’s pool
in the summer of 2002. It worked better than we expected.
That fall we made 10 prototypes, bought covers, and then installed
them on pools in our area. The pool owners could not believe
how great the Dryco drain worked. In the spring, we went back
and helped them open their pools, and the covers were completely
dry. Because there was no water or debris on any of them, we
knew we had a product that worked.
In the summer of 2003, we opened our manufacturing facility.
Located in Wingo, Kentucky, our 12,000 square foot facility
is capable of providing the required space needed to meet any
size order that we receive.
In June of 2006, we received U.S. Patent Number 7,065,804.
Encouraged by our success, our research and design team continues
working on new ideas that will improve the way people winterize
their pools.
We are also proud to say that our product is made and packaged
in the USA. Only the best materials and supplies are used to
make our product. We are thrilled that our product betters
the lives of others, and we will stand behind it without hesitation.
Sincerely,
Kevin Rickman
